Foodie Spotlight | Chicken Sandwich

There’s nothing like having a bite of a crunchy, juicy, and delightful Chicken Sandwich. Of course, in this current times there have been a handful of them vying for the consumer’s attention. It is quite different from four years ago that anyone now are emphasizing on the Chicken Sandwich as their main menu when most of them not having them in their list or menu board. Jollibee is one of them that have jumped in to the ‘Chicken Sandwich Wars’ late in 2021 when they unveiled their version of a Chicken Sandwich even marketing it before as a ‘Chick n’ wich’ to stir up competition with their other fast food restaurant contemporaries that has been arming themselves with their type of this dish.

Fried Chicken is an all-time favourite lunch meal, and there are diverse iterations of this dish. Every food establishment have their own crispy fried chicken defining what is crunchy and meaty at the same time. There’s been so many choices and some are not as what you expect of it. There are others are just there to add ‘flavour’ to the ever growing fast food industry some can’t keep up. 7 Eleven on the other hand has slowly established their own in-house meals besides the hot dog sandwich, siopao, donuts, and other things that make them differ from other convenient stores. But with the addition to Crunch Time meals they’re not just selling ready-to-cook meals. They now have the Crunch Time on their Fried Chicken!

Chef Creations | Three Cup Chicken

Chef Creations has become an established sub-product for 7 Eleven, which features some of the best personalities and restaurants in the Philippines to create their meal blue collar Filipino. It’s a diverse product with majority are the rice meals that are affordable and just right up your alley in a premium presentation. Lugang Café has produced two chicken meals for 7 Eleven, and previously their Sweet & Sour Chicken was the spotlight. Their second product collaboration doesn’t get much ‘word of mouth’ due to the diverse menu collated by 7 Eleven and collaborated with other establishments to produce these impressive meals. But this one again with Lugang Café might give it a try.

7 Eleven’s range of “Chef Creations” is a mix bag of experiments and collaborations between the convenient store and established culinary experts, as wells as renowned restaurants from the Philippines. They’ve created these diverse menu considered some of the premium products ever produced exclusively sold for a convenient store. It’s kind of unheard of but that’s how you keep things relevant not just being a convenient store. 7 Eleven manage to expand their horizon on what to have in a store that is known for their Slurpee and Gulps to make a range of localized cuisine that not only served for those who can afford. But partnering up to put together some more choices for you to try it, and this time with Lugang Café’s Sweet & Sour Chicken!

Jollibee is by now known most parts of the planet for their food, namely the famous Chicken Joy. It is their flagship meal and favourite Filipino staple that they have perfected and has become a well-documented and reviewed by Foodie aficionados that never heard about the fast food giant. Chicken Joy even dethroned KFC in the Philippines and continues to be the most preferred choice on every household’s plate for those ordering take away. Jollibee tries to stay constant and consistent in making their product relevant despite how it is served to local customers and internationally. It is still have a long ways to be globally known, but for now they are worth the spotlight.

03.23.2012 – Are you looking to have a great tasting meal during lunch time? Shakey’s has been in the Philippines and was originally founded in Sacramento California, USA in 1954. They opened their restaurant in the Philippines back in the 1970s. Today it has 500 stores globally and its one of the pioneer pizza chains in the country. We sample some of their well known meals and desserts in their Gaisano Mall branch down south of Davao City. The usual mood in their restaurant is relaxing and accommodating as their waiters can be. We had spaghetti and chicken as our lunch earlier today.

01.11.2011 - Lunch won't be complete with a great meal at Mang Insal here at the south in Davao City. From the same owners of Jollibee they bring out the best with their Chicken Barbecue. Mang Inasal certainly made its way to become the fast food restaurant to go to when it comes to their special Chicken Barbecue. Quite a big serving for Pecho a Bacolod inspired meal their best seller ever!
