Foodie Spotlight | Chicken Sandwich

There’s nothing like having a bite of a crunchy, juicy, and delightful Chicken Sandwich. Of course, in this current times there have been a handful of them vying for the consumer’s attention. It is quite different from four years ago that anyone now are emphasizing on the Chicken Sandwich as their main menu when most of them not having them in their list or menu board.

Jollibee is one of them that have jumped in to the ‘Chicken Sandwich Wars’ late in 2021 when they unveiled their version of a Chicken Sandwich even marketing it before as a ‘Chick n’ wich’ to stir up competition with their other fast food restaurant contemporaries that has been arming themselves with their type of this dish.

It is not often you’d take the opportunity to try one until you have tried them all. Some already have their version of a ‘Chicken Sandwich’ rebranding them with a fresh take while others continue to stick to their ‘winning formula’ despite not winning it all for their customers.

Obviously, this won’t be ‘the thing’ if not for a new restaurant that started opening its branches all over Metro Manila, and consistently putting their menus to shame. They only served the best tasting Chicken Sandwich and neither of them served with a Spinach they took the country by storm in influencing the consumers with their style of Chicken Sandwich from Louisiana.

But Jollibee will not have non if it with their popularity riding with their Chicken Joy was not enough to keep up with the competition and decided to make their own Chicken Sandwich that’ll keep them relevant.

Chick n’ Wich

When Jollibee introduced this sandwich to their menu it was entirely different with the amount of sauce and the presentation looks drab. But they slowly learned from their mistakes and listened to the consumers who reviewed their take on a sandwich that would put them right back in the conversation.

Like all Chicken Sandwich it comes with a bun, and they are not using some ordinary bun, and putting quality on their product is absolutely a priority to even match the competition, and go from there with the boneless chicken breast like smack with a few slices of jalapeno and that sweet honey mustardy sauce.

Less Greens with Crunchiness

Most of the Chicken Sandwich that have been put out there would have tomatoes and lettuce in them, but this is the part Jollibee gets the most comments not having veggies in their sandwich. But they make sure the chicken breast is the core of their product to be palpable to the point you’d keeping coming for more.

It is not the allure that makes this sandwich attractive it is the content that drives it, and as they say less is more at the same time flavourful with the use of their sauce balanced with a few slices of jalapeño to start fire on your mouth that is worth noting despite the lack of greenery over this sandwich.

Overall Jollibee has found another dish to keep them in the competition, and refining it to be their version is quite a remarkable feat in keeping up with the trends when it comes to the Chicken Sandwich Wars. You can never have one or even two, which is something Jollibee was able to do it and surely one of the crunchy chicken sandwich out there, and in the end the consumers are the winners to take this in.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: A
  • Overall: No Lettuce or Tomatoes to distant their version of a Chicken Sandwich.
