The Three Cup Chicken is an original Lugang Café meal with tender chicken strips glazed with a special sauce inspired from a Taiwanese dish. Just like their previous product this is store in a medium size microwaveable bowl, which is uniformed with the Sweet & Sour Chicken,
This is the one that mostly flies off the shelves, and curiosity will shed the light on the product that sounded unfamiliar that’s not-so Filipino. The bowl is taped on the sides of the cover and product details are on the cardboard slip cover.
A Cup of Chicken
Once you remove the tape that sealed the microwaveable lid you see the glazed sauce frozen with the chicken strips arranged on top of the soon-to-be steamed rice. You can see there are veggies in this meal and the way it was set up you don’t need to mix it up together with the rice.
Directions say 70 minutes to be heated on the microwave with the lid slightly open. But you can remove the lid and have it cooked properly with the microwave. Remember, some microwave oven doesn’t have the same setting like the one 7 Eleven have in their store, which gives you flexibility to set the timer.
Glazed with Goodness
At first, after it was cooked on the microwave the chicken looked like adobo. But it’s not and the ‘secret sauce’ that made it happen really amped up the chicken tender strip and when you mix it up with the steam rice this certainly looks good.
The three cup chicken certainly lived up to what Lugang Café is trying to achieve with this meal. The crunchy veggies mixed together with the chicken tender strips that’s been cooked with the mystery sauce certainly made this a winner.
Overall, this is another great meal for the reason why the Sweet & Sour Chicken is always left out and this is the reason for being the favoured meal. Though, price is depend on whose buying it’s not a popular dish among the locals. But it certainly just won over another satisfied customer.
- Food Quality: 4 out of 5
- Affordability: B+
- Overall: Still a bit pricey, and this one was a winner.
