There are five dishes that features Chef Claude Tayag, and it is not under a theme. But it large dishes that are not sold in other convenient stores, and if one of them are like from 7 Eleven’s competitors it is likely be a different take and presentation. One of those five dishes is the Batchoy a well-known dish originated from its native region of Iloilo City where it was widely known as La Paz Batchoy.

“Pancit” is a Filipino dish (also spelled pansít), is a general term referring to various traditional noodle dishes in Filipino cuisine. There are numerous types of pancit, often named based on the noodles used, method of cooking, place of origin, or the ingredients. Most pancit dishes are characteristically served with calamansi. With 7 Eleven Philippines they have recently introduced another collaboration under their Chef Creations this time with Claude Tayag, which features five Filipino dishes that also include his take on the “Pancit Palabok” or simply called “Palabok” as most locals would immediately identify this type yellow cornstarch noodles and the ingredients are entirely different from the traditional type of Pancit.

There are rice meals and then there is the Chef Creations by 7 Eleven Philippines, which entirely creates a collaboration of flavours for the locals to savour. This is not the first time the country’s popular convenient store has collaborated with well-known restaurants or famous chefs. Bistek is a loan word also spelled “Bistec” in Spanish, which is an English word for “Beef Steak,” while the word Pancit also spelled “Pansit” general term referring to various traditional noodle dishes in Filipino cuisine. But as two dishes put together is not the usual kind that you’ll find sold as an instant meal. But with Manam Express, they certainly made something rare and new combining two dishes in one appears like out of nowhere. With 7 Eleven’s Chef Creations you put together something that is surprisingly uncommon as with this pairing that surely not the usual you will find in every 7 Eleven store out there but is it really good?

Chef Creations | Kare-Kare by Manam Express

Kare-Kare is a very challenging dish to prepare because it is a stew with thick and savory peanut sauce, which it’s based stewed oxtail, beef tripe, pork hocks, calves feet, pig's feet or trotters, various cuts of pork, beef stew meat, and occasionally offal. The process alone takes a lot of patience and steady hand in getting it right. But you never heard of it being a frozen meal sold at 7 Eleven, and yet they did collaborating with Manam Express bringing this dish as one of their two Filipino food that you can take it home and just heat it with a microwave. The other dish is Sisig, though a Kare- Kare seemed to be that kind food you do not want to mess with.

Sisig is a Filipino dish most commonly seen paired up with beer in local pubs or bars. It is also a favourite to have during lunch and it is basically made from parts of a pig's face and belly, and chicken liver which is usually seasoned with calamansi, onions, and chili peppers. It is one of the delicacy that everyone starts with a conversation. Because they mix everything in it, and wait while you have a convo. But the one being sold at 7 Eleven doesn’t need no mixing of the egg on tops of the Sisig, and it is one of the Chef Creations in collaboration with Manam Express, a local fast food resto that brings you to the spotlight of how it is different to have an instant version.

Though there won’t be ACTUAL photo of that pudding but an exterior image of Jamie Oliver’s Christmas Italian-Style Pudding. Jamie Oliver is well known chef and he has a show on TLC (The Learning Channel) called fifteen minute meals. In Australia he’s the brand ambassador at Woolworths where all his products are available. It might be a kitchenware or that pudding which is a curiosity to for once try getting your hands on IF it is available in your supermarket.
