McDo Sta. Cruz | Blind Pineapple

There must be a reason somewhere that if your store has so many deficiencies that means there is something with wrong management, and how the staff has been trained to be efficient and show the value of the company that they represent. Unfortunately, in the Philippines that seems to be obviously ignored despite the complaint by the customers that had a terrible experience.

With the McDonald’s Sta. Cruz branch there must be an urgent need to find what makes this place such bothersome store. Putting up a survey to ‘help improve’ the company’s images that means they should have taken critical action to help fix those chinks in their armor. This is not the only branch that had so much lack of service it just happens their competitor was closed early for their “company outing.”

Dining in this branch despite having the not-so good experience doesn’t mean I’d be not coming back to see if there’s any improvement in the service. Unfortunately, this is VERY SAD that after so many complaints in the past months including the a review I wrote last year this place has no chance to redeem itself.

If this was in Australia all the staff might have been sacked terribly because they didn’t shaped up to improve the way they treat their customer and makes sure the quality of the food is above international standards NOT FILIPINO STANDARDS. Typing this in bold letters so the upper management will get their act together and ensure the course of action of beefing up the crew to what should be McDonald’s mission and vision. It is certainly gratifying having been living in another country to find that the McDonald’s Philippines is not like the rest of the world.

This is How the Meal looks like upon pick-up.

Clearly, that's not the white rabbit that melts in your mouth. That is a carton piece that was buried under that dry spaghetti.

Inappropriate Way of Serving Food

When you look at this branch it is not only about the quality of the food, but also how they served them with detail. This was quite the lack of professionalism all throughout the way I got my food. From the excuse that “only take out customers are serve with plastic lids” to getting the McSpaghetti with a piece of the cardboard stuck on this meal clearly shows negligence.

The fries are not golden it was probably was just re-heated that some of the fries are burnt that certainly didn’t looked golden brown. I asked for two regular pineapple drinks for the two Happy Meal to be put into a large drink, but was not served with a plastic lid because of the environment excuse that only take out customers are allowed have it and the resulting spillage of the drink was like someone drooled on my tray and sipped on the pineapple juice.

Although everything horribly was a sight that most people might not have stomach to comprehend, but they got one request right by removing the dressing on the Burger McDo. Lately, I decided to try to have a straight up no dressing on this Burger McDo, because it might be the one that makes it a terrible tasting invention my McDonald’s Philippines. The patty was not as mouthwatering as the original Hamburger that this company discontinued in the early 2000s.

Burger McDo, the scourge THAT SHOULD NEVER EXIST but we don't have a choice.

But they got the only request that they did right still worse localized burger in this country.

Pale and Burnt. Not your average Golden Brown Fries.

Zero Communication Skills

I don’t know what has gone wrong between the staff, but the lady named Anavel did nod to me means she understands all the request is asked for my meal. I ordered two Happy Meal, Burger McDo with Fries and McSpaghetti, which both have the same Pineapple drink that I explicitly requested to have it in one large cup that the crew who served the meal did not get any advice from. She gave me two regular pineapple jucie full oill of ice. When she corrected her error the lady just put the large pineapple cup on the tray like in a rush for me to leave as she already did her job. No apologies and numb like an Elephant’s foot to even acknowledge her mistake. Instead, she blamed her collegue, who took my order and just didn’t even care for the customer.

Clearly, giving you an idea how these people are trained by “World Class” standards that is only Low Class Filipino Mentality is what they were trying to invoke in their posters that I read in one branch... I don’t think it is up there with what they claim to be. The last survey I sent them through McDoListens.com that I lost respect in dining in this branch because of the bad service. Of course, having been in other countries you still hope this will improve but unfortunately zero grades will be given to this until they really make it right, and if they still continue to be ass-hats well that clearly defines what kind of country we live in.

New Aesthetics Doesn't Let you Win Points for Service it is the People that make them, namely the staff.

Overall even though they have finally adapted to the new ordering process the customer service is negative one hundred points. It is not about how the store looks it is the attitude of the staff that reflects the company’s image. You represent a well-known brand but some of the staff looks like they never really appreciate working in this job. Honestly, if you don’t like the job go somewhere and find what makes you passionate and happy about.

This is the problem with most employees and what I learned living in another country that even though you work on a decent store with all the essentials but your heart is not in it certainly the company suffers and this is why McDonald’s Philippines sucked. It also shows that it is just about getting their customer’s money and not about really giving the value what is customer service, which is a sorry state in this company that continues to fail everywhere in the Philippines.
