Big Time Meals | Baked Truffle Chicken

The Baked Truffle Chicken is one of the many new meals that has been added to the ever-growing menu for 7-Eleven. It is part of the Big Time Meals range of rice meals that are tiered to be one of their premium “seasonal meals” As the Holiday Season is less than a few weeks away invite you to their take on this dish.

Usually, Big Time Meals are medium-tiered rice meals that border on the premium at the same time trying to still capture the budget-conscious consumer. The last few months have set its theme to Southeast Asian dishes from Thailand, and now setting the mood with their take on the Baked Chicken Truffle that is part of the Taiwan-themed dishes that are becoming a popular trend with the local consumer.

Big Time Meals | Creamy Baked Bangus

Bangus in English is called a Milkfish, and it is a typical meal in the Filipino household. It is a regular “menu” item that is easily home-cooked and has a variety of interpretations of how it is prepared as well as a variation of the way it was presented by those adventurous in exploring culinary ways to cook a Milkfish to keep its relevance not only in this country but internationally as well.

7-Eleven keeps coming up with their take on the Milkfish with their latest offering of the Creamy Baked Bangus stated being available to major outlets that never gotten an announcement that has been sitting on one of the shelves somewhere in a 7-Eleven store out there. It is getting a spotlight here with the latest Big Time Meals.

Big Time Meals | Chicken Pandan

The Flavours of Thailand sub-range of dishes from 7-Eleven has been a hot seller in terms of quality and presentation. The Big Time Meals where two of the dishes are under its series have been sold out, and smaller branches don’t get more than one per dish which makes it underwhelming to find out how they are not being stocked.

Previously the Chicken Satay was the most constant item that has been stocked for most at the 7-Eleven, where I get most of the stuff featured and it is a bit of a walk if you go to the other 7-Eleven stores. But sometimes you just have to be patient and the Chicken Pandan did turn up as one of the dishes from the Flavours of Thailand that became available upon delivery.

Big Time Meals | Chicken Satay

7-Elven continues to roll out new ideas and a diverse selection for its ever-growing menu of rice meals. This year is also their fortieth anniversary in the Philippines, and the celebration continues by unveiling an expansion for their Big Time Meals brand that has been a staple in everyone's palette. This anniversary year certainly is a hit with thew locla consumers that most of the dish is always sold out.

The flavours of Thailand are a set of dishes inspired by and some based on its country’s origin. They have four dishes ranging from snacks to lunch meals. The two main rice meals have been popular with Chicken Pandan and today’s featured dish with the Chicken Satay that’s looks flavourful.

Big Time Meals | Chicken Inasal

You rarely get confused seeing that 7-Eleven puts up products that appear similar, but it is not the same. This is in the case of the Chicken Inasal which was a new product that debuted in 2023. Another product was almost similar to this, and that is the Baked Chicken, which turned out to be entirely different.

To delve into the Chicken Inasal, this product is new and it is popular for being a grilled chicken and not cooked in an oven. It is also a dish that is a “takeaway” version that you will find being served by Mang Insal and Chicken Bacolod Inasal, though this product has no relation to these two fast food restaurants. But it is surely something to look forward to as 7-Eleven expanding yet again their lunch meals.

Big Time Meals | Sinigang Na Bangus

There are more reasons why Filipinos like Sinigang (Stewed [dish]) with so many variations of the dishes that are more popularly a home-cooked meal that takes preparations as it is composed of a sour and savory taste. Imagine that turned into a quick instant meal that you only need to heat with a microwave.

7-Elevenv Philippines did roll out a couple of fish-related dishes a couple of weeks back with the Bangus Steak, and this also included the Sinigang na Bangus (Stewed Milkfish) that didn’t much move in the freezer shelf. But it sure slowly caught on what was getting attention from word of mouth, and did fly off the shelf and it was already sold out.

Big Time Meals | Grilled Liempo with Kangkong

Grilled Liempo with Kangkong (Grilled Pork Belly with Water Spinach) is one of 7 Eleven’s popular Big Time Meals, which is the premium version of the Hotta Rice budget meal. It is for those want a heavy lunch on the go with extras that also includes a side of Atchara that’s been part of this meal.

This is an uncommon dish from the Big Time Meals that is rarely stocked, and immediately gets sold out like its budget counterpart.

Of course, this is not to be highly expected being compared to the ones being served in restaurants. But it gives you some semblance of having that meal experience.

Big Time Meals | Baked Chicken

There are more ways to cook a chicken, and the best will always going to be the fried version. But Baked Chicken is rarely seen in a menu let alone sold as a frozen meal that’s quite inviting your curiosity for a budge product you’d be interested to try and have that particular experience because it sounded new and rarely noticed.

7 Eleven certainly had this product for quite a while, and it is usually underappreciated not being fried but baked. There’ another version of a baked chicken, but this quite the minimalist meal you’ll probably ever have. It is quite a Big Time Meal and despite being overlooked at the freezer section of the store.

Big Time Meals | Menudo

If you’re not from the Philippines, the word “Menudo” sums about so many things. It can be that Puerto Rican Boy Band or that Mexican Soup, and sometimes a Mixtape of Latin Songs related to the name.

But most of the time if you have been to the Philippines it is that familiar home cooked stew that your Lola, Auntie, or your mum’s original take on that stew.

But then again, it can be one of the popular frozen meals from 7 Eleven’s list of Big Time Meals that you always miss grabbing during lunch time, which they were selling out because it was so popular that you need to go to another 7 Eleven to find it.

Big Time Meals | Chicken Teriyaki

When you talk about being authentic it has to be based from the original, and that means being genuine as it has to be. With 7 Eleven’s Big Time Meals they have expanded their menu to Japanese favourites like the Beef Gyūdon, and now adding one more to the dish is the Chicken Teriyaki.

There have been many local restaurants and food establishments that dared to adapt what is an authentic meal like the Chicken Teriyaki.

Some has succeeded and there are some have never even understand what authentic means. But most of the time there’s one would dare it to make it their dish as how they adapted it.

Big Time Meals | Beef Gyūdon

Beef Gyūdon is one of the popular Japanese dish also known as Gyūmeshi consisting of a bowl of rice topped with beef and onion simmered in a mildly sweet sauce flavored with dashi, soy sauce and mirin. But if it is localize in other countries there might have some variant difference, which would become not as authentic as you know.

There are some local Japanese restaurants trying their take on the on this Japanese dish. Some might have success, while others may not be as what everyone would call an original Gyūdon. For 7 Eleven to make it as part of their Big Time Meals is quite the challenge out to make it as affordable and the same time this good to be accepted.

Chicken Barbecue has become a staple in every Filipino’s lunch meal, and thanks to a local restaurant that popularize it. But would it be possible to have it as a frozen meal? The answer is a yes, and 7 Eleven has done it what they have with their version of the Pork Barbecue skewered in a stick that a Chicken Barbecue is more popular.

Though it may look different as sometimes expectations can be high that 7 Eleven’s take on the dish would be equally the same. But it really depends on how you appreciate and take it. If you’re time is short or in a middle of a busy week a quick Bight Time Meals is all you need, and 7 Eleven might have delivered on this one.

Big Time Meals | UnMEAT Burger Steak

Burger Steak is a mainstream dish popularize worldwide originating from Germany courtesy of migrants from that country. The people of Hamburg developed a dish of minced meat that was molded into the shape of a steak and then grilled and served with gravy dating back to the 18th century.

Nowadays, you can find Burger Streak anywhere in the world and in the Philippines it has been localized that a certain fast food chain has made it into their signature meal.

7 Eleven, however takes the Burger Steak to a new level, and made it into a vegetarian delicacy in collaboration with UnMEAT that became available sometime in 2021.
