Big Time Meals | Creamy Baked Bangus

Bangus in English is called a Milkfish, and it is a typical meal in the Filipino household. It is a regular “menu” item that is easily home-cooked and has a variety of interpretations of how it is prepared as well as a variation of the way it was presented by those adventurous in exploring culinary ways to cook a Milkfish to keep its relevance not only in this country but internationally as well.

7-Eleven keeps coming up with their take on the Milkfish with their latest offering of the Creamy Baked Bangus stated being available to major outlets that never gotten an announcement that has been sitting on one of the shelves somewhere in a 7-Eleven store out there. It is getting a spotlight here with the latest Big Time Meals.

The latest addition to the ever-growing Big Time Meals is the Creamy Baked Bangus, which is a deboned baked Milkfish that’s creamy surrounded with sliced carrots and peas that’s all set to be cooked via a microwave. It looked presentable in the packaging that you can see through the plastic top.

It is also in a black plastic tray that includes rice that looks good in the product photo. Of course, reality and product image don’t look the same after it is heated and ready to be consumed. The product ‘looks exciting’ with its graphic that is similar to the past Big Time Meals introduced this year, and it looked promising to keep 7-Eleven relevant with their rice meal offerings.

Creamy as the way it is

Personally, not familiar with the Creamy Baked Bangus or even tried this as a lunch meal offering. The first thing you will see is the colourful graphic that stands out among the other products 7-Eleven have on their chiller. This is different from the Sinigang na Bangus as it uses the same fish as the centerpiece of the meal that was introduced early this year.

This one looks tastier with that baked boneless bangus soaked in creamy cheese with some vegetables is certainly gives some delicious vibes. There’s nothing like having the latest Big Time Meal offering from 7-Eleven that adds to this year’s fortieth-year celebration since opening its doors in 1984.

Boneless Milkfish Wins

A Baked Bnagus is certainly different from the straight-up deboned Milkfish in the way it was prepared not to mention soaked in a creamy sauce. This will certainly be a sold-out product once it gets discovered as a new addition to the ever-expanding product under the Big Time Meals portfolio.

The only minor gripe is not enough Creamy Baked Bangus or Rice to make it a fuller meal. But as always, you have to understand the budget that was put on this product the same way it was priced to keep it affordable to everyone who wants to try something new and different for their everyday lunch.

Overall, it is always good to try out a new product from 7-Eleven and give it a try to have that experience of having something that you don’t get to eat often. The Creamy Baked Bangus is certainly a winner, and your only missed opportunity is not enough food portions to make you full having it.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: A
  • Overall: The only "missed opportunity" is the Food Portions is not enough.
