This was a dish that most people coveted the most between the Chicken Satay and the Chicken Pandan due to its unique appearance, and the way it can be immediately spotted from the store shelves. For those who have not tried this dish make sure you do as it is a limited-time product as presented due to its theme.
The origins of the Chicken Pandan go back to Bangkok, where the chicken is wrapped in pandan leaves. It is a popular starter in most Thai restaurants around the world. The pandan leaves give a vibrant aroma as well as keep the fried chicken juicy and moist inside. This also gives you a unique look for the dish wrapped in pandan leaves as the immediate difference between the Chicken Satay.
Uniqueness of the Pandan
At first, if you have not tried other dishes outside the Philippines this would appear to be out of the ordinary who never explored trying other dishes as the ones you have been used to having every lunch. 7-Eleven continues to elevate its products by exploring dishes from other territories.
They have been consistently doing it to all their products and expanding the consumer’s horizon in trying unique and original dishes aside from what people are used to in this country. For most of its creative and inventive ideas, it keeps the 7-Eleven brand not just known for Slurpee and Hotdogs. However, localizing the products would be affordable to those who don’t usually dine at fast-food restaurants.
The Chicken Pandan is good, but not enough to savior the experience as it only comes with three boneless chicken meat wrapped in Pandan leaves. You can see it through the plastic cover top resting on the black tray with the rice and vinegar dip.
Anything Good is Not Enough
Contrary to budget constraints, this product is really good. Although not good enough to enjoy the experience as the product is not near in abundance compared to the Chicken Satay that has the dishes in its skewers. Because the product trying to be authentic as the original Chicken Pandan, there’s a limitation to the product’s quantity versus presentation through quality.
Is it really good? This product is a recommendation as it is always sold out in most 7-Eleven stores that don’t stock them enough. It is always going to be sold out until 7-Eleven stops making them due to the limited-time only reason why it has become an instant favourite for most who have never tried it.
Overall, it can be said of a missed opportunity not to have it stocked in smaller 7-Eleven stores the reason why it is challenging to get a hold of the product unless you request it from the manager and staff handling the particular branch. But the rest is certainly a good recommendation for those who have not tried it.
- Food Quality: 4 out of 5
- Affordability: B
- Overall: Three Pandan-wrapped chicken meat is not enough for the experience.
