Foodie Spotlight | Quarter Pound King

Have you ever had a cheat Friday? What do you have in mind when having this day? Surely, most would indulge in heavy meals or a sweet treat. But trying out different burgers from Burger King seems unlikely. Sometimes you don’t even realize that it is actually Friday, and you’re already have the best laid plans until a metaphorical wrench gets thrown in and you need to have Plan B.

Of course, there’s a ‘go with a flow’ moment when that happens, and you just ride it like what just happened today. Ending up at Burger King you just pick the burger that you haven’t had in a while, and there it is… The Quarter Pound King, a solo without the fries and drinks is today’s feature here.

Burger King usually advertise their flagship burgers like the Xtra-long Chicken Sandwich, the Whopper, and the recently introduced Chicken King. Most would have the plant-based Whopper for health reasons. But in this Friday it was a random burger that rarely people are having.

The famed Flame Grilled burger producing establishment has quite a menu beyond the above mentioned burgers. It’s just the price and the preference that most people don’t gravitate to that ends up in a rice meal.

Pounding like a King

There are Quarter Pound burgers in other competing establishments, and yet few don’t notice on Burger King’s menu. It’s one of the four flame Grilled sandwiches that BK offers that is not named Whopper and yet not much noticeable due to a quarter of beef patty with cheese and onions that includes pickles makes the burger.

Besides that, the burger that’s wrapped with doesn’t say “Quarter Pound King.” The wrapper that’s using is from BK’s Whopper. Though, you don’t need to be specific of the product with its own wrapping. But they’re saving cost on print here, and what is important is you get the sandwich that you really ordered.

Thick Quarter Patties

When you open it up the burger has sesame seed buns, and it rarely you see sandwiches like this anymore unless you are paying premium. Even other competitors only use sesame seed buns on big burgers that certainly would be considered high quality that truly speaks for itself.

But the Quarter Pound King won’t be that good without its signature quarter pound patties with cheese pickles, and onions dressed in ketchup and other special sauces. Unfortunately, it wasn’t spicy enough to get some serious kick by just adding a dash of Sriracha sauce will definitely make your day.

Overall the Quarter Pound King is one of the underappreciated sandwiches from Burger King, which is hardly noticed due to the list of other burgers vying for your attention. It’s not as big as the Whopper but it is just right for lunch time that deserves a little attention if you just want to try BK’s other burgers at random.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: B
  • Overall: Underppreciated due to other BK burgers vying for your sttention.
