There have been so many chicken sandwiches out there that you might want to re-invent it like the wheel. Pretty much the competition these days are steep and it gets tiresome having the same sandwich no matter, which fast food restaurant that’s serving it from their menu. For KFC, the inventive approach has been good and sometimes a dud. They have limited time offers, but none they are memorable enough to get their customers a second round of comebacks to merit them that recall. They kept going with the Zinger sandwich that is slowly becoming forgettable due to the competition. But try to re-invent it into a new twist will have you getting second looks.

There’s enough Double Cheeseburgers out there that sometimes you want something different or even unique. McDonald’s continues to innovate in other markets trying no new things out of the tried and tested burgers it’s not applicable to all markets. But almost four years ago McDonald’s in the Philippines did release a secret menu. The “Secret Menu” released five unique burgers that were not in the regular menu, and when the self-ordering machines were just installed during its release it was there that the secret was unlocked. One of their famous burgers had a variant from the regular menu and that is the Double McChicken, which instead of a beef patty it had replaced it with two bone-less chicken meat.

There Chicken sandwiches as the Chicken Wars continue to get other food establishments into the band wagon Popeye’s has ignited this since opening its Philippines stores back in 2019. They presented not one, two or three variations of what they have to offer in their menu, but have something for you to choose from. If you’re quite on a budget they have one for you to try in their menu, and that is the Chicken Burger. The very basic chicken sandwich they have behind the US Spicy and the French Chicken Quarter. The other non-chicken sandwich they have is the Fish Burger, but right now all you need to try and take a look at is their most basic sandwich in the Chicken Burger.

KFC is a global brand despite being founded in Louisville, Kentucky. All over the world KFC varied being for the good stuff and the not-so impressive way how they’ve come up with their product. In the 1980s, KFC opened its doors in the Philippines and has established itself as a popular chicken joint. But over the years it slowly started to decline hashing up the usual generic rice meals “what they think would sell” to coming up with unique limited time only products. The one thing they haven’t looked at themselves is daring to challenge the Filipino taste with something different, but instead they let things slide not having any other sandwich but a random chicken burger and a Zinger.

The Chicken Sandwich Wars has been brewing in the last five years in America as outside of it the culture is different varies from other countries. In the Philippines, it is gaining interest when Popeye’s returned to the country in 2019, and this was not the first time the Louisiana-based restaurant opened its doors in Asia. They’ve been in select parts of Asia in the early 2000s and slowly shuttered their doors. But with Popeye’s they’ve been on a roll opening branches despite the pandemic in March 2020.
