There have been so many chicken sandwiches out there that you might want to re-invent it like the wheel. Pretty much the competition these days are steep and it gets tiresome having the same sandwich no matter, which fast food restaurant that’s serving it from their menu.
For KFC, the inventive approach has been good and sometimes a dud. They have limited time offers, but none they are memorable enough to get their customers a second round of comebacks to merit them that recall. They kept going with the Zinger sandwich that is slowly becoming forgettable due to the competition. But try to re-invent it into a new twist will have you getting second looks. |
KFC has a handful of memorable ‘limited time’ offers, but not of it can be like the Double Down. But that seem to have come back so many times people are clamoring for something new and gives that unique vibe. Again, their Zinger sandwich is their only saving grace and it is the same thing all over again.
But recently, they have something going for when it comes to chicken sandwich and that is in the form of the Gravy Burger. IT is a Zinger though at the same time an entirely different sandwich that scream crispy chicken.
Down with Gravy
The one constant thing with KFC in the Philippines is their dip. They made their gravy a staple compliment for their chicken despite losing to their competitors. They’re not like the KFC of Australia or Singapore to keep coming up with sandwiches to keep the interest going.
Every KFC certainly differs and adapts to the country’s culture. Their chicken sandwiches are not popular so the Philippines they have to be on their toes to come up with something original or most of the time experiment something entirely out of left field, an d that’s how the Gravy Burger came to be.
Two Chickens in One
When you remove the top bun you can see two types of chicken breast sandwich together with a thin layer of cheese. It’s like Double Down in the bun. But this is not just the usual Zinger. It is a special Zinger dubbed “Gravy Burger” because the sauce they used is their signature gravy.
The buns are different too with a little bit brown shade that makes it a little bit premium than the usual Zinger. It stands out a little bit better, but the core of this sandwich is the boneless crunchy and meaty chicken breasts that’s sandwiched together that have gravy as the main sauce than the conventional mayo.
Overall the experience in-person would give you the on-hand moment to take that bite out of the thick layered Gravy Burger that it is a sandwich on its own, and not just a Zinger than has been known for so long. Also, you get the option to have the spicy kick that surely will want you coming back for seconds.
- Food Quality: 4 out of 5
- Affordability: B-
- Overall: The Zinger Gravy Burger is good with the price just covers it, but their customer service for take aways is a turn-off.
