Typical ‘Busog Meal’ product in a microwave-able tray covered only with a plastic top sealed with the product description and details that includes the ingredients. There’s no direction to how many minutes you need to heat up the dish. But it is a no-brainer that the minimum two minutes will do (depends on your Microwave).
So far it hasn’t caught much attention to most that this is a new product along with the Chicken & Pork Adobo. Iti s a straightforward no nonsense Filipino dish that it is the only Calderetta product with no other variation unless 7 Eleven decides to expand and add a Pork or Chicken Caldereta to its ever growing list of menu.
Not Stewed but with Pasty Feels
There’s a commonality that a Calderetais is basically a stew using Goat Meat, but for this budget friendly product it uses beef, and once you remove the sealed plastic top it is entirely different and it is not a stew. That pasty appearance would throw you off though it is a different variation of a Caldereta.
Immediately you will see how it was packed and the way it was set up shows the rice is not evenly leveled unlike the Adobo. But this must be a random thing how the machine would have put the rice before the dish when it was being packed in their factory before it was sealed.
Tasty Underrated Goodness
It is not a stew but it is a good pasty morsel that rolls through your mouthwatering appetite. It is hardly a description though this was just a personal experience in having this simple dish that is quite a surprise to be a little better than the Adobo flavour.
This is quite a rate treat to even get the Caldereta right let alone a non-stew version with more of the beef with that kind of pasty flavour. Though not enough rice to even make you full as it is understandable that this is a budget meal.
Overall, this was a good dish with no frills or thrills just straight up budget meal that deserves a second serving that also needs an amount of rice to evenly make it a good lunch on an affordable cost that is for those individuals that are on the go.
