Foodie Spotlight | Classic Double Cheeseburger

McDonald’s is world renowned for their famous French fries and Hamburgers. Over the years they expanded globally and that means some of those that made them famous need to be tailor made to the culture and country they have expanded. It is unique that with all that changes there still the core menu that stays the same.

The Cheeseburger has been synonymous with the brand, and has been remade and evolved. But one thing certain is that they kept the ingredients consistent despite the subtle changes. Recently, in the Philippines they have added “colourful” version of their burgers and that includes the cheeseburger with lettuce and tomatoes as part of the ingredient adding a little ‘health’ conscious to the product.

Of course, there is nothing like the Original Cheeseburger. You top that with the Classic Double Cheeseburger having the same all-original ingredient and classic taste it is still the best no matter if you’re a health conscious no-meat kind of individual it is still a favourite among those who would add it on their ‘Cheat Day.’

The Double Cheeseburger TLC version is not new, but the original classic despite not having all that Tomatoes and Lettuce while retaining the Cheese is something worth having it once in a while that brings back a lot of fond memories of those younger days that you can hashtag: #FlashBackFriday

Meatier than Ever

Double Cheeseburger means it has two layers of burger patty that gives you an extra kick to have something for lunch. It is made of heavy eating with all those juicy patties topped with slices of pickles and sprinkled with onion is something that not all would rather remove for the Filipino tasting community.

Nobody like pickles, but this one writing this review definitely do. You got to have a few pickles once in a while getting this burger. It’s not as extravagant as the medium-size Big Mac (because the one in Australia has a bigger version) with those sesame seed buns it is still something the locals should try how the American have one.

Nothing like the Classic

The buns are smoother than a human skin and the cheese are immaculately position in-between the patties. Of course, the only thing that’s resemble any green foliage are the pickle slices most Filipinos don’t like. The sprinkles of onions could be slices, but there must be budget portion for this and why it’s sliced to tiny little bits.

Consuming it depends on who’s eating. Not all want to take on something that is not in the form of a rice meal. But for someone who had Western food and tried almost every rice meal in one of the convenient stores in the country, this one was quite nostalgia how just it feels to be back somewhere where everything just taste good.

Overall not everyone is a fan of the classic Double Cheeseburger, where all the rage is non-meat kind of burgers that disguises themselves to be real. But they’re the healthier version aching to gas guzzling car to a Tesla. It is something to remind you of the good old days and why McDonald’s still have them.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: B+
  • Overall: Nothing like the Classic Double Cheeseburger.
