Busog Meal | Chicken Sisig

Chicken Sisig is a variation of the Sisig Dish that has been a common staple in Filipino households and at local pubs as a complimentary while having a beer. But most of the time it is one you’ll find at eateries and food stalls. It is an inexpensive dish mostly a go to with rice for lunch.

7 Eleven has the budget friendly Busog Meal as their most affordable range of dishes mostly serving all the variations of Sisig and Giniling (Filipino-style Pciadillo) that are packaged in deep green box that shows this as the most basic food item in their long line of Filipino dishes.

The Chicken Sisig is one of the ‘sort of new’ to the range as part of the Busog Meal range.

The Busog Meal doesn’t need an exposition, but clearly the go to meal when you don’t have time to ‘wine and dine’ on your lunch break. The range is fairly a short list of the most common dish ranging from Filipino breakfast and lunch dishes.

Quick Meal

The Chicken Sisig is just a variation of the Sisig dish that doesn’t need to be elaborate, but the way it was presented show the “affordability’ compliments how the quality of food is prepared if you’re not too particular or nitpicky about having one from the get go when you don’t have time to go through the store’s shelf.

Simplified Sisig

It is not every day you’ll have an affordable meal, but if you’re time is short the aesthetics won’t be a bother. You just hit the 60 minute setting on the microwave and off to the races. Of course, you can’t stop being particular seeing a tiny chili in the middle of that brown dessert populating the white rice and the rest is simply good.

Overall you don’t need expectations, but seeing how Filipino culture is when it comes to food people just need a simple meal to fill up their day while on the go. Not everyone can have this type of meal and if you’re quite specific what you eat it is understandable on your diet what you consume this is just a quick look how most of the masses have on their lunch by noon.

  • Food Quality: 3 out of 5
  • Affordability: B+
  • Overall: Quality aesthetics is fine, it is an afoordable meal and yes it needs more spice.
