The Bacon Carbonara has been sitting in the 7 Eleven store where this was purchased. They haven’t had new delivery as the shelves are starting to look bare. The only pasta dish sitting on the corner is this Bacon Carbonara that has been pushed up to the back where the light doesn’t reach it.
It was the last piece and it seemed a little bit odd for not being bought in the last 24 hours. Most of the rice dishes are the usual kind that needs to be replenished. But going back to this Carbonara, it looks a little bit beat up on the plastic cover despite the contents are intact and frozen awaiting to thawed.
Frozen Carbonara
It appears that the product is like being in a suspended animation or being stasis, but like most frozen food all they need is that microwave heat. You remove the plastic top revealing the product’s food portion is still the same as the previous pasta dishes.
The dryness is what you find in the Carbonara itself, but understanding in how to keep it intact and less spoiled they have to find a way to preserve it for the customers that only need to put it into the microwave to ‘wake it up.’
Tiny Portions of Goodness
Despite the very small portion that accompanied by two round garlic bread this was really good. It may appear dry but once you have the taste of it, clearly it is not about the appearance. But the quality of how they made sue to keep it fresh and not being spoiled being there sitting on the shelf since yesterday.
The garlic bread is not just an added treat and you take advantage of it as the one to wipe that creamy sauce and leftover pasta for you devour it. The bacon bits were unnoticeable, but the past noodles were really cooked and mixed with the creamy sauce to make this a very delightful treat in little portions.
Overall recommendation is you at least gotta try it. Definitely, this is not made for those looking for a heavy lunch. But it delivers a good past experience despite the size portions being left to be desired. It is one of the four pastas under the 7 Eleven Fresh range, and the one that’s underappreciated that you need to have one.
- Food Quality: 4 out of 5
- Affordability: A-
- Overall: Needs more portions and looks a tad dry.
