Big Time Meals | Chicken Inasal

You rarely get confused seeing that 7-Eleven puts up products that appear similar, but it is not the same. This is in the case of the Chicken Inasal which was a new product that debuted in 2023. Another product was almost similar to this, and that is the Baked Chicken, which turned out to be entirely different.

To delve into the Chicken Inasal, this product is new and it is popular for being a grilled chicken and not cooked in an oven. It is also a dish that is a “takeaway” version that you will find being served by Mang Insal and Chicken Bacolod Inasal, though this product has no relation to these two fast food restaurants. But it is surely something to look forward to as 7-Eleven expanding yet again their lunch meals.

You can immediately identify that this product is entirely new as most of the “Big Time Meals” have a uniform plastic covering that you won’t see the product itself that has been the consistency of this range for the past 2-3 years. With the new rollout of 7-Eleven dishes, you can see that the newer products have a see-through plastic top.

The Chicken Inasal is the sole product with this type of packaging as you can see that it adorns mostly the texture of the chicken that you can see in the transparent plastic top. This is widely a favourite that is often sold out and the particular 7-Eleven store where this product was acquired only gets a restock every other day.

The Dip that you New Knew

Besides the popularity of this dish, the Chicken Inasal does not have its dip included in the package of the product. The 7-Eleven staff is the one to provide it, and this depends also on the staff who will give it to you as most of the time there are the ones who are stingy or do not even let you know that there is one and you need to request from them to give it to you.

The dip are in packets and they come in orange, and it is up to you how you prepare them. This might be for the chicken to be added before you put it into the microwave as it marinates and adds flavour while it is being cooked. It is also interesting to know that this can be optional. Nonetheless, it is part of the product now that you have an idea that it comes with its dip.

Juicy Chicken for Lunch

This might be as close to having Mang Inasal at home on a budget as the chicken it is a winner with this product. But like all good dishes, it needs more rice to match the goodness it offers. The way it is prepared alone is quick and easy by using a microwave oven and no need to wait for it if you have tried one in any restaurant.

Chicken Inasal is one of the popular Filipino dishes that is always craved during lunch time and it is always sold out. 7-Eleven continues to produce this type of dishes that capture the locals' flavour without breaking the bank as a budget product. It might not be most of the time they get it right, but this one is surely one of the best.

Overall, the Chicken Inasal is a must-have priced on a budget despite not having enough rice to keep you from devouring only the chicken once you have eaten them all. 7-Eleven has once again found its market when it comes to lunch meals leading the way as it should be having localized meals that people can keep coming for more.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: B+
  • Overall: Beefy Chicken that needs more rice.
