7 Eleven Fresh | Siopao Adobo

Siopao is a steamed bun with various fillings, which is a Filipino snack that was popularized by Hokkien immigrants during the Spanish colonial period. It is the indigenized version of the Fujianese baozi that evolved to what is now known today. There are a lot of variations and takes of this snack that 7 Eleven as part of their local snacks that is available in all their outlets. In the past two years, the Siopao at 7 Eleven is no longer just the Asado or the Bola-Bola flavour. They have produced Chicken Asado and even a Pizza flavour that the buns are even coloured like the Pizza crust. In late October 2022, they added a new flavour that is the Adobo that local Celebrity Chef Reggie Aspiras has created.

“Drumstick” is a brand that was invented in 1928, and for most of those people who have had this some might have thought about it as a term. But turns out it is a product that has been around for almost a century and it’s owned by Nestle that continues to be relevant globally and it’s a signature for their ice cream snacks. In the Philippines, when you mention “Drumstick” it’s those chocolate ice drops and popsicles, but it turns out the term is known for those special cones that hold the ice cream. The Ube Cheesecake is a Philippine exclusive knowing the “Ube” flavour is so popular that there have been different iterations of this yam. An ice cream cone with this flavour is something special.
