Japanese dish by New Hatchin under the Uma Delica brand has been consistent with their delivery of fresh and premium food for an affordable price. But with the inflation rate happening the prices of the ingredients have been quite challenging to maintain its product cost to what it was. But with all the changes they still keep the quality as the way it should be.
Yesterday it was a shock to find out that New Hatchin did have a price bump from last year, and it might not be permanent as the cost continues to soar. Despite the changes in price point one of their bestsellers is the Katsu Curry. It is still one of their favourite product that maintains overall quality. |
From the way they cook their rice to the equally sliced katsu and this includes the packaging put together the first time going into New Hatchin you’d think all their products were premium price several years ago. But that was not the case now with the price bump and all that’s happening around has affected these changes.
It is unfortunate that to maintain the quality of their product they have to sacrifice affordability, which makes sense to ensure they don’t take shortcuts on their product. But that wasn’t the case with some of their other dishes that have to make some changes to make the product still carry that quality with some slight cost cutting.
Stil Crunchy as Ever
The Katsu strips sliced evenly are what makes this dish a sought-after that you can only find in high-end restaurants. But for the value less than dining in a premium restaurant you’ll get the chance to try the same type of Japanese dish for the minimum affordability that New Hatchin has put a price on this dish.
Same Quality is No Longer the Same Price
It is unfortunate, that not all can afford the current price it carries. But for those who have extra to splurge their hard-earned money, this is still one of the best dishes to have despite that it had its price bump since last year. It is challenging to get used to the changes in paying more for something that has become a household favourite.
Overall, it is still something to look forward to having whenever there’s a chance. But now it is limited to a special occasion or significance to celebrate with getting this dish. There’s nothing like the curry sauce to go with the crunchy katsu and warm rice that’s been consistently good.
The curry sauce drives the taste of the katsu despite its crunchiness, and it is the one dip that New Hatchin has a secret that they don’t sell unlike the dipping sauce they have for the Special Tonkatsu and this makes it even more special despite that you can never have it as often as it used to be due to the price change.
- Food Quality: 4 out of 5
- Affordability: B-
- Overall: Still the best, but the price increase made it slowly become unattainable to have.
