Shakey's Chino Roces | Needed to be Reminded

There’s a fine line between good food and service to having a great experience overall when you dine in a restaurant. Not half-assed overbaked feeling of “this is good enough” to merit them the admiration that you’ll come back for more because they have given you the overall satisfaction you have been given.

In the case of Shakey’s, they aesthetically look “friendly” in all of the adverts that you see on their billboards like you’re about to have a pie in fantasy land. But in reality, the story stays the same. Coming back here to the same place after the soulless experience of being treated like an afterthought does not make them forgiven.

The same dining place doesn’t mean there would still be improvements, and you return to pick them apart for every move or gesture they make is like peering to each employee’s soul for what they are about to do. There is no excuse if they bumble their way during lunch hour as an excuse for the untimely nitpicking.

It’s like they don’t know they are being watched through a microscope for the things they have incurred in the past that will be written and documented unknowingly for what they have done for this day. To them or the overall Shakey’s customer service, they will ignore it. But you know, it is not being judged it is how well they perform that will be the overall experience as this customer will now gauge the experience.

  • Incomplete Menu
  • A Mojo Wait a Moment

Incomplete Menu

From the start pointing out the ones that would materialize in their menu is immediately dashed as “Not Available” or they do not have the dish is already an immediate negativity for the customer to even find out the one they wanted is not on their menu, and yet, it is there in the thick booklet as not marked “Not Available.”

From the select Seafood Marinara to the Shrimp Pasta they are not available down to the Root Beer Float was a complete travesty to even hope for nothing. There was not even an apology to inform their customers of what is not available to what they can offer was not even the typical customer verbatim. But rather, here’s what they have and it is already a turnoff to even accept that they can’t say “No.”

A Mojo Wait of the Moment

The main dish that they offered was Spaghetti on Skillet which was not even a choice. They can only offer soda in a can like a cheap experience in a local diner. The wait for the Prima Lasagna was forever alone they would need to be given a follow-up reminder about the food until they came to their senses.

It wasn’t a terrible experience, the wait to keep their customers worried is the part they should NEVER EVER do. They know that people will come in and hope a table is free, but that is not going to happen. The Security Guard was not even there when things got challenging on their behalf. It is not an excuse because seven people instantly turned up and waited for a table while the food was delayed.

This was a brief experience of why you should not dine in here at Shakey’s located in Chino Roces beside a gas station and just across from a big box grocery store. The experience of waiting is already a wasted time when they can control the amount of people coming in and out. It is a terrible fate that some would leave because they did not check in first or book a table. In the age of accessing their contacts through social media Shakey’s could have utilized communicating with their customers for table availability.

The waiting part for the food is another concern. Because they need to be reminded to give them a follow-up when they should know already the moment they have taken the orders and get it to the customer quicker than having 15 minutes wasted in hoping the customers are not going to be pissed.

Well, there is no apology here. There will be no recommendation to dine at this place. Honestly, the food is good that it still holds up despite having a slow retarded service to begin with. There’s a saying “You can’t rush art” At the same time you can’t keep customers waiting to get a bad experience, right?

  • Branch: Shakey's Chino Roces (Buendia)
  • Customer Service: D-
  • Food Quality: 7/10
  • Overall: The staff needed to be reminded of the food that was ordered to make the follow-up and the service is SLOW.
