Mang Cesar | Roasted Chicken Experience

Roasted Chicken (Lechon Manok) is one the most famous dish in the Philippines, and just next to the roasted pig (Lechon Bsboy) to have during lunch time or on occasional events or parties included in the menu. It is not rare to have Roasted Chicken as many establishments have tried their hand in creating their own brand.

Recently, outside of the Makati CBD a new food establishment named Mang Cesar opened their newest branch. They have other several branches all over Metro Manila and this one opened last 22 July 2022. Their flagship dish is the Roasted Pig, but you can also try their take on the roasted chicken, which is something to experience here.

Besides their premium dishes for a family or group they also have rice meals listings, and their starter is the roasted chicken. It is their take with a pepper and spicy flavour that that separates them from the competition. There are also options to have half or the full chicken experience.

Of course, the half or full chicken doesn’t come with rice, but they have pretty much have other options for you to try as the new store has a dine-in and alfresco area that certainly made this a refreshing experience to those working within the store’s location. You won’t miss it because of the new paintjob and white umbrellas for alfresco dining outside the store is easily notice.

They also offer take away for those who are still reluctant to have dine-in experience and would rather have experience their product at the comfort of their homes or at the pantry of their workplace.

Plethora of Menu Options

Though the space for indoor dining is not enough elbow room, they still have the alfresco dining outside within the area of the store. Parking maybe a bit challenging, but you know it is a new dining experience for those who want to try local cuisine.

Their menu is something very Filipino about it, but you get the main idea that they also have Letchon Baka as you can see the silhouette of heir logo. But since this was not entirely a dine-in experience the lunch was a take away.

Roasted Chicken Goodness

We ordered half-a-chicken and requested to be divided for three people and paid for the white rice since it was not included. This was not the fixed rice meal though the roasted chicken is the same one you get when you order for a single set. They packaged it very professional in a disposable foil container with plastic cover.

They give you options when you order half or full chicken for take away, and it was one of the best services. Most of the time establishments would have limitations on what they can and can’t do and this one was just quick with no dramas.

Unfortunately, they only provided once dipping sauce container of Mang Tomas and not separated for three people. It was just alright how things turn up. It was less than thirty minutes, which was the surprising part while waiting in one of the tables.

Overall miscalculated on ordering the chicken, and should have gotten the full experience as their have large portion of the white rice, which was a little intimidating for those who were doing portions for carb intake.

Mang Cesar was quite a delight not only about their food, but the service that it’s not constrained to a script where the staff was actually conversational. Their take on the roasted chicken was great, but on the customer side it was our miscalculation about getting the full chicken and everything else was so good.

  • Food Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Affordability: B+
  • Overall: Miscalculated in getting Half-a-Chicken that was suppsed to be full. Everything is Mang Tomas
