Total (Philippines) Corporation takes the message of safety to this year’s Chefs on Parade (COP) as the sole provider of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for all COP sessions which happened from February 28 to March 3 at the SMX Convention Center.

Chefs on Parade are the biggest and longest running culinary competition in the country organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP). As with the previous year, it attracted thousands of professionals in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries as well as culinary students, foodies, and those eager to learn what the hotel and restaurant industries can offer.

“This is the second year that Total is participating in Chefs on Parade, not just to showcase our LPG products but also to take our message of safety to one of the biggest audiences yet,” says Total (Philippines) Corporation LPG Manager Eugene dela Paz.

In the Philippines, unattended stovetop cooking is still one of the leading causes of house fires, along with faulty electrical wiring, and spontaneous combustion. Although fire incidences have lowered down each year according to the Bureau of Fire Protection, Total continues to educate Filipinos about cooking safety via events like COP and its TLC or Total Ligtas Check program.

“We want LPG safety to become the norm, whether it’s being used at home or in a restaurant. LPG safety training has always been part of the services we provide to our clients and since last year, we’ve been reaching out to various communities with TLC, teaching mothers and all those who handle household LPG on basic LPG safety - checking their tank, regulator, hose, stove and seal,” concluded Eugene.

Totalgaz is used in households as well as medium- to large-scale commercial establishments.
