Aussie Bites | TAFE Cafeteria's Fish n' Chips

02.23.2018 – In high school or college days packing lunch was a challenge. Every day it becomes redundant with the food you bring all the time. But it saves you enough money for you buy stuff that your mom won’t let you get namely comic books or toys. But as you become an adult and have decided to embark on living overseas the challenges stay the same only this time you get smart at it.

Rarely, buying food at the cafeteria is something not the usual thing when its lunch time. For this day only trying something different and for this day no more bringing the usual homemade sandwich or the microwavable rice in the box meal that was purchased at either Coles or Woolworths. It’s time to try the local stuff that TAFE Regency has to offer and that’s the usual Fish n’ Chips!

Maccas | Chicken Big Mac

01.21.2018 – There are a variety of burgers McDonald’s have ever produced. Some are experimental and then there are localize versions of the product.

Good, bad or sometimes terribly trying to be part of McDonald’s but let’s not mince meat on the not-so interesting ones but those that really work for the company and its brand that looks interesting from a foreigner’s perspective.

Enter: Chicken Big Mac, the one and only limited time offer to McDonald’s Australia has landed. Yes, the Big Mac gets reinvented with Chicken instead of Burger meat patties. It’s like the McChicken that became a Big Mac minus the sloppy mayonnaise that comes with it and it’s entirely something new.

Malaysia Airlines In-Flight Meal Return Trip.

01.03.2014 –Closing the travel with another in-light meal from Malaysian airlines seems to be the appropriate story on this trip.

Rarely you’ll ever travel for longer hours and have a full size meal or just a small snack being distributed.

It is great to travel and at the same time experience having a taste of some cuisine not sold in your country. Traveling back to Kuala Lumpur was a breeze with no turbulence compared to the trip going to Australia.

Definitely the in-flight food distributed is different from the last time and here is the meal they served…

Beat the Aussie Heat with Sprite Zero!

01.01.2014 – Sprite Zero has been around as “Sugar Free Sprite” in 1974, and changed it to “Diet Sprite” in 1983. In some countries it is known as “Sprite Light.” In 2002 the name changed in various territories to the current name.

This was changed due to that the Coca-Cola Company introduced Fanta Zero and Coca-Cola Zero. In Australia this has been part of their product, which is unavailable in some markets like in the Philippines especially in a 600ml bottle.

Usually you get Coca-Cola products in a standard 500ml but never in a 600ml bottle in Australia…

Maccas Presents You The Mc Ozzie!

12.30.2013– How patriotic is the Mc Ozzie burger? The name itself speaks for the product Maccas is offering for the limited time only. After a long travel back from Port Hughes, and stopping over at the Biggest Rocking Horse in Australia anyone deserves a hearty dinner.

Last stop before heading home dinner time on a bright afternoon at Maccas, and the latest meal you’ll see is the Mc Ozzie burger with rich ingredients.

McDonald’s Australia certainly knows how their customers feel healthy with such interesting menu…

Peters Ice Cream's Zombie Snot!

12.30.2013– Peters Ice Cream of Australia is what Magnolia is known in the Philippines. The company has been around since 1907 named after Fred Peters serving some notable product throughout Australia to be known as the country’s ice cream.

On the way to the Biggest Rocking Horse in Gumeracha besides the Toy Factory and its popular tourist attraction a small café served Peters Ice Cream. Coca-Cola Products in Australia!

12.29.2013 – Heading on a trip to Port Hughes a quick stop over at a nearby petrol station to fuel up. This is also time to have dinner at the BP (British Petroleum) fuel station, where most of the people who are heading up for the holidays are getting supplies too.

There checking out what their in-house convenient store had to offer, which is quite interesting that they have beverages that are not available in other countries. Of course you’ll be surprise that they also have their own version of a Slurpee with the Icy Whirl from Fanta which you can mix it too.

Maccas Gives You The Mighty Angus!

12.28.2013 – Every McDonald’s store all over the world has its unique set of menus. Australia’s own Maccas have its unique burgers and it’s the Mighty Angus. They say it’s as big as Hungry Jack’s Whopper burger but it’s entirely popular on its own.

There are three Angus burgers being served by Maccas the Angry, Mighty and Grand. It’s like spicy, medium and large in size with great taste.

Taking a closer look at Mighty Angus will definitely make you crave to find out if you’re not based in anywhere in Australia. Besides the Might Angus taking a look on the Frozen Sprite Mixed flavors…

A Warm Cup at The Summit in Mt. Lofty!

12.27.2013 – How do you enjoy a view of Mt. Lofty? How about coffee at Caffe Aurora?

You’ll probably want to come back and enjoy a warm cup with your sunnies (sun glasses) on while appreciating the blue skies high above The Summit.

Caffe Aurora is one of the establishments at The Summit up above Mt. Lofty where you get the view of South Australia.

It is a wonderful place to be high above just having a good perspective of the entire place which is definitely a stunning view…

The Haus at Hahndorf SA!

12.27.2013 – The Haus is one of many restaurants in the little town of Hahndorf in South Australia. It’s a German café and bar restaurant which has a wide variety of dishes created from the best in local produce.

The Haus of Hahndorf is located at the heart of Adelaide Hills and coming from the city of Marion it only takes 10 to 15 minute drive.

They serve Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Supper 7 days a week plus they have tempting pastries added to that is their lively Alfresco Cafe that served great coffee.

Meatballs & Chips at IKEA Australia!

12.26.2013 – Anyone knows IKEA is the biggest furnishing store in the world, but what some doesn’t know is they have a cafeteria. There’s a place to dine in but they don’t allow take away for you to bring the food home. It’s interesting for a first-timer to eat at a popular place like IKEA.

They serve some interesting cuisine and tried out meatballs and chips (French fries). IKEA’s closest store would be Singapore and you’d wish they have one in the Philippines. The meal is great plus they also have refillable drinks except coffee…

Having a McWrap at Maccas!

12.24.2013 – McDonald’s in Australia is known as “Maccas” to what the Philippines call it “McDo” where Aussies are fond of making names short. It sounded like another fast food restaurant but IT IS a different McDonald’s altogether.

The McDonald’s in Australia is health conscious not comparing it to the Philippines well… You get the idea how Maccas put more effort on your nutrition intake.

What’s so interesting about their menu is they have a wide range of healthy options. In the counter they have this placard saying “The average adult daily energy intake is 8700kj.”

23 December 2013

First Dinner at Nando's!

12.23.2013 – Nando’s is an original Australian restaurant which first opened its branch in Perth back in 1991. They served the famous flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken and they have more than 200 branches all over Australia.

They also serve Afro-Portuguese inspired side dishes and it’s one of the places you would have dinner at Westfield Marion a nearby mall in Adelaide.

Nando’s is located on the 3rd level near the cinema if you’re staying in the city of Marion, which have the best spicy meal you’ll ever try on your first visit.

Malaysian Airlines In-Flight Meal to KL!

12.22.2013 – It’s rare that you get to travel and have an in-flight meal. Domestic flights in the Philippines serve food, but most of them you need to pay for it. Traveling to foreign countries that have longer flights does serve FREE food and this is one of them.

Malaysian Airlines definitely emphasize being “Truly Asia” not only the country’s tagline but how they deal with their passengers.

Some might have not received the best customer service but for this trip surely this traveler was having a good bite while having an in-flight movie. Malaysia Airlines served a great meal and it definitely lived up for it.
