It is a popular Filipino dish and it is common to see it anywhere being sold. But for Shopwise Meals it is one of the three dishes that you don’t see on the display shelf for so long with the Meatballs that have sweet & sour sauce, and the only non-rice meal with the Pesto Salmon Pasta.
Like the rest of the rice meals, the Pork Adobo is in a rectangular container separated from the rice that is included. While the Braised Pork Belly and the Meatballs are swimming in their sauce, the Pork Adobo has its sauce frozen as you can see it being settled until you put it in the microwave to be heated.
Homegrown Adobo
There is nothing like a home-cooked meal, but there is something special if that rice meal captures all that without the need to prepare and cook. The Shopwise Meals certainly captures that part of why this Pork Adobo is so special and also a standout among its contemporaries on the display shelf.
The fact that the sauce is in a settled state, you do not need to worry about any spillage while taking it home. But to be secure asking the staff at the checkout would help if they add extra tape on the sides to avoid having your lunch spoiled before making it to your doorstep and not yet heated to be consumed.
Juicy Pork with the Sauce
Most Pork Adobo is not tender or juicy with difficult to cut, but the way it is prepared is already heated you know it is something you nimble while consuming it slowly. A usual Pork Adobo if not prepared properly is difficult to cut or it is as hard as a rock that would strain your jaw from chewing it.
But this one, it is just right that you think it is not perfect enough to be this good. It is another winner that Shopwise Meal did not end up cutting costs on the budget and making it one of the sought-after meals that they have offered. You can only find one of each and they need to stock more.
Overall, this is another winner from Shopwise with their rice meals, and they are taking this home run having the Pork Adobo done well it is not as oily or the meat is difficult to chew. They made you feel like it is a home-cooked lunch that you will never get enough that you need to keep an eye on when they restock it.
- Food Quality: 5.5 out of 5
- Affordability: A+
- Overall: Well made, it is a must-have rice meal if you get into Shopwise first before someone else beats you to it.
