Lauriat | Chinese-Style Fried Chicken

There are things you crave to have that you can only have once in a while. You can never have too much of it, because of watching your health and what you eat. Sometimes, it’s best to have it when the opportunity arrives, like being at a party, and never set to stay over when your time to leave the crowd, as the way you eat.

If the metaphor is too much to comprehend, then in simple terms is never too much of the same thing. Of course, the same thing means you want it again like tomorrow. But in reality, it is best left to enjoy what you can consume with Chowking’s Chinese-style Fried Chicken; there’s no stopping from having some crunchy and meaty meal that is quite like seeing an old friend again.

  • The Changing Food Portions

Chowking is not like all fast food restaurants, as it’s all about consistency with service and how they treat their customers. Jollibee owns the company and has given the Bee quite an advantage when putting up its own Fried Chicken. But Chowking has lived separately from being ‘just a sub-brand’ to making it a popular Chinese-style fast food chain in the Philippines and in other countries.

But like most fast food chains in the country, they are not perfect. But they continue to strive to better serve the locals, the way they are serving their customers in other countries. There’s no doubt that Chowking has made its own identity in serving great food at whenever branch they have, despite tough competition.

But the focus here is more about their popular Chinese-style Fried Chicken, which has been quite popular. It is their flagship product, out of their popular meals and snacks, which most locals have for lunch and dinner.

Chinese-style Fried Chicken

There have been four meals under the Lauriat brand, and the Chinese-style Fried Chicken is on top of the menu’s list. There are four other flavours, which also include three variations of Sweet & Sour that you can choose from for Chicken, Pork, or Fish.

The last option on the list, where you can get the Fried Chicken without the drink inclusion. But whichever of the options you choose, you are going for the meal itself, just for the way it is going to be served for you.

Always Food Portions

You can understand the changing of the times, and the cost of the ingredients certainly hits home when you feel underwhelmed with the way how large portion meal is no longer that ‘large.’ You can say, it’s being more noticeable year after year, and the only thing that really is permanent is change… And cost.

Even the product photo on the menu looks more attractive than the actual product that is served to you, and that’s going to continue to change over time. Nothing is going to change the way the world affects the food you order from a fast food restaurant that tries to keep itself from being relevant.

Overall, the Lauriat with the Chinese-style Fried Chicken is still the way it was a decade ago; it’s the "shrinkflation" that got into everyone’s everyday life. It’s not going to change the way the food is served to be the same one as you imagined a decade ago. But they continue to be better than ever before. It’s just that they continue to put more ice on your drink, like most fast food restaurants in the Philippines, no matter if you requested less.
